Dr. Rachel Cook is an ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract and refractive surgery and medical eye disease management.
​
Dr. Cook received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University and then completed medical school at Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine. After her internship in internal medicine, she completed her ophthalmology residency at the Scott & White Eye Institute in Temple, Texas and served as Chief Resident during her final year. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Christian Ophthalmology Society.

​Throughout her training and while in practice, she has lectured for a number of local community medical education events related to eye health and provided free eye exams to community screening clinics. She was also selected as a
review course guest lecturer to Texas primary care doctors about the basics of eye disease and management. She has always had a passion for service and has served on several medical and non-medical mission trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, and underserved areas of the United States. She also spent a summer in Kazakhstan learning international medicine.

Dr. Cook enjoys educating her patients about best practices for maintaining excellent eye health and strives to ensure her patients are well-equipped with knowledge about their eye problems, treatment, and prognosis. She considers it an honor and privilege to be trusted with caring for her patients’ sight and seeks to faithfully steward this God-given responsibility well, everyday, with every patient.

Dr. Cook is happy to be back in Aggieland after practicing in Brenham since 2015, and is proud to join Marr-Kirkland Eye Center to carry on providing compassionate eye care with excellence as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. She and her husband, Jared, have two young children and spend most of their time at home enjoying family time together.
